Best Oreo Bars Recipe

Oreo bars are chewy brown sugar blondies with white and dark chocolate and lots of cookies. The quick and easy dessert will please any crowd.   

– 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 stick, softened – 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 1 egg – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1 cup chopped Oreo cookies divided – 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks divided – 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks divided – Cooking spray


Pre-heat oven to 350. Prepare an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.  


Step 1

Cover the pan with parchment paper, leaving excess on the sides to remove the bars. Apply cooking spray to parchment.  

Step 2

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a basin. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a stand mixer basin with the paddle attachment on medium speed for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.  

Step 3

Beat in the egg and vanilla. Use a spatula to scrape the bowl sides. Mix the dry ingredients until mixed on low speed. Be careful not to overmix.  

Step 4

Fold half the Oreos, white chocolate, and semisweet chocolate chips with a spatula. Press dough into an equal layer in prepared pan.  

Step 5

Top the dough with the leftover Oreos and chocolate chips. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out with a few wet crumbs.   

Step 6

I tested them in a metal pan; glass may take 5 minutes longer.The bars should cool completely on a wire rack in the pan. The parchment overhang helps lift and cut the bars into serving squares.
